Food: Savory Catering.

Hello! I'm so happy to share this post with you! I had the pleasure of being able to photograph the food at a Microsoft event in City Creek Center this last week, thanks to Savory Catering. I should note that Savory was hired by Microsoft, and I was hired by Savory. I couldn't have been more pleased, as I LOVE to shoot food. If you're a chef, a restaurant owner, or a food blogger, you should consider having me shoot your next event. Please. With a Cherry on top. :) Without further adieu, let me present each gorgeous creation in exactness: 

Beef Crostini-- bread rounds brushed with butter and herbs then toasted and layered with a six-day balsamic-marinated beef slice, topped with caramelized onions, sage whipped cream, and garnished with a fried spinach leaf.




Shrimp with Snow Peas-- large fresh pink shrimp threaded on a skewer and wrapped with a bright green snow pea, then dipped in a hint of cocktail sauce.






Sweet Potato Cakes with Black Bean Salsa-- mini cakes made of sweet potatoes, then topped with black beans, sweet peppers, roasted corn, scallions, chile-lime flavored cremé fraiché and a shred of lettuce.






French Financiérs-- ingot-shaped bars of hand-made pound cake with a passion-fruit, raspberry or blackberry geleé, and an icing glaze.







Turkey Bacon Avocado Sliders-- mini hand-made kaiser knots spread with an avocado aioli, layered with roasted turkey breast slices, bacon, and lettuce.







Mini Fruit Tarts-- hand-made flower shaped tart shells made of citrus-scented french pastry dough, lined with white chocolate, then filled with smooth coconut pastry cream, topped with fresh fruits and berries, then glazed with a shiny apricot glaze for freshness.








Duck Wontons-- tender duck breast seared and sliced then served on top of a wonton chip with a roasted yam and topped with a tropical salsa scented of jalapeno.







Gelato Tasting Table--hand-made gelato in assorted flavors, some of which include: blood orange, toasted sesame, lingonberry, kaffir lime leaf, salted caramel popcorn, and chocolate hazelnut brownie.
